Answer: Incandescent and LED technologies are quite different. Incandescents are spherically radiating and emit full-spectrum light, while LEDs have a viewing angle and are monochromatic. The Luminous intensity of an Incandescent is measured in Lumens not watts. Watts really relates to the power consumed by the lamp per hour, not the amount of light output. LED luminous intensity is measured in Candela. Approximations between the two can be made, but you must be careful to consider the filtering effect of a lens (colored filter: cuts down the intensity when full-spectrum light passes through it), as well as the light dispersion angle (spherical versus viewing angle).

Using LEDs to replace another type of light source (i.e.: Incandescence, Halogens, Fluorescence, etc.) is "Application Specific". In other words, one Incandescent lamp might have many different types of LED lamp replacements, depending on the specifics of the application (a red lens would require a red LED cluster, and a green lens would require a green LED cluster and so on).
